NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series heads to Darlington Raceway for this weekend’s Bojangles Southern 500 on Saturday night, April 12th. Joining the Sprint Cup Series at Darlington on Friday night, April 11th is the Nationwide Series, racing in the VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200.
Festivities kick off on Wednesday, April 9th with the 10th annual Darlington Car Hauler Parade, leaving from the Florence Civic Center and making its way through Darlington Square before ending at the “Track Too Tough to Tame.” RaceFest begins at 4 p.m. ET at the Civic Center, with the Hauler Parade beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
Gates open on Thursday, April 10th at 12:30 p.m. ET, with Nationwide Series practice sessions at 1 and 2:30 p.m. ET. Gates open Friday, April 11th at 11 a.m. ET with Cup Series practice at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET, followed by Nationwide Series qualifying at 4:05 p.m. ET and Cup Series qualifying at 6:05 p.m. ET. The Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 takes the green flag at 8 p.m. ET. The Bojangles’ Southern 500 goes green on Saturday, April 12th at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Tickets for Friday’s on-track action start at just $30 (general admission), while Southern 500 tickets are all less than $99. Fans can upgrade to the Darlington Stripe Zone hospitality package for an additional $140 for Saturday, which includes a pre-race pit pass and food and beverages before the race begins, plus appearances from Tony Stewart, Danica Patrick and Ryan Newman.
