Have you heard of the “Harlem Shake?” The dance has gone viral on the Internet, and Christians are doing it in several sectors, according to BCNN1, Feb. 21.
The dance starts with the leader wearing a mask shaking in front of the people, and then they all join in for 30 seconds.
The words to the song are: “Con los terrorista" (Do the Harlem Shake).
There are several groups and organizations doing the “Harlem Shake:”
- Saddleback High School Ministry
- Liberty University
- Destiny World Outreach Center
- Vineyards Student Harlem Shake
- City Church Downtown
As you watch the video at the bottom, looks like the participants are acting silly and having fun – which is the purpose of the shake.
On one video performance, a young man had stripped down to his briefs though, not a flattering sight.
If you get offended over Christians dancing, you may not appreciate the “Harlem Shake,” because they really get to shaking.
So check it out and decide if it is something you would do or allow your kids to do.
