343 Industries announced Forge Island for Halo 4 during a panel at PAX East on Friday and the video of that announcement has made its way to the internet. Get your first look at free new Forge map for the Xbox 360 shooter.

As mentioned previously, Forge Island is a free download for Halo 4 meant to give builders in the Xbox 360 game new palettes for their creation. The map actually features three islands of large, medium and small sizes separated by bodies of water. The largest island is big enough to fit a remake of Hang 'Em High from Halo: Combat Evolved as is shown off in the video. One of the panelists speaking said that Blood Gulch could fit as well and encouraged fans to build it.

The Forge Island map was created after the community asked for a flat space to build on and as a thank you for support.

Forge Island will be available free to download on April 11. You can check out the video of the Forge map in our video gallery courtesy of ducain23.

343 Industries also shared details on the Competitive Skill Rank and mutli-team play during the panel.
