Halle Berry restores pre-baby body with low carb diet to control her diabetes

Debuting her post-baby body, Halle Berry is earning kudos for her curvy body. The new mom of two looks fabulous at 47.

Named Most Beautiful Woman by People magazine numerous times, Halle works hard to maintain that sleek physique, according to Fitness magazine. Her secret weapon: Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, author of "The Body Reset Diet: Power Your Metabolism, Blast Fat, and Shed Pounds in Just 15 Days" (click for details).

Harley focuses on shaping Halle's lower body by having her work only one arm or one leg at a time when strength training with dumbbells. The result builds in cardio as well, boosting the calorie burn. (Find out about Harley's at-home routine by clicking here for "Harley's 5-Factor Workout.")

For diet, Halle follows a high protein, low carb diet, according to Us Weekly. Because she is diabetic, she's careful about her blood sugar levels. Halle enjoys fish, salads and soups as well as protein drinks and energy bars.

"Because I'm diabetic, I totally changed my diet and workout regimen a few years ago. I don't eat fried foods or refined sugar — only natural sugar in fruit and vegetables. And I don't eat carbs a lot," she told Woman's Day.

In the past, according to Mid-Day, Halle also has used the cleansing, metabolism-boosting "The Fat Flush Plan" (click for details).

The Fat Flush Diet involves cutting carbohydrates initially and boosting protein intake as well as healthy vegetables. You then gradually add in more carbohydrates while detoxifying your body and jump-starting your weight loss.
