Gun ‘buy back’ minister charged with kidnapping, assault

“Local pastor charged in assault,” the Akron Beacon Journal reports. “Minister accused of speeding off in Lexus with repo man on hood.”

If the repo man’s story bears out, it sounds like a pretty wild ride:

He said the pastor was smiling during parts of the drive as he weaved and made sharp moves in an apparent effort to toss the repo man off.

''He hit the windshield wipers to try to knock my hands off the hood,'' Falzini said. ''He was laughing at me, telling me he was going to take me on the interstate.''

Pastor Marc Neal is in a heap of trouble:

A month after the incident, Neal has been charged with felonious assault, kidnapping and abduction.

Here they are: Counts one, two and three.

But curious thing about Neal. He’s a prominent local activist pushing citizen disarmament as the way to stop the violence.

''As community leaders we must promote safety. The possession of guns increases the risk of tragedy,'' Neal said.

Believing something needed to be done to get illegal guns off the streets, Neal approached the Akron Police Department and the Summit County's Sheriff's and Prosecutor's offices, with the gun buyback idea.

And it’s not just “on the streets” where Neal wants to remove the guns.  From the following year’s event:

"It relieves the easy access of guns being available inside the home," Neal said.

All things considered, I guess that’s understandable.

And hardly surprising.

Funny thing about some people who don’t trust the rest of us with guns…

Pastor Marc Neal disobeyed the Lord's admonition concerning the repo man: Render unto seizers the things that are seizers. ;^)

very good play on words. The pastor was a "wolf in sheep's clothing".

Another person projecting their anger issues on to law abiding gun owners.

Perhaps the reverend is simply a T.J. Hooker fan.

  • Henny Youngman 1 year ago

From my experience with gun-grabbers, it's more likely he's just a hooker fan.

So... The right "reverend" Neal committed his assault and kidnapping with the number one inanimate tool of choice for dealing death. He must have obtained his weapon of choice from one of those evil Automobile shows. It's past time that the availability of those nefarious machines be restricted to law enforcement and military.

Ok, I just have to ask, what the hell was the repo man doing on the car's hood? I'm not defending the pastor driving around recklessly with the guy on the hood, but I am willing to bet there is quite a bit more to this story and the repo man is not an innocent. They are clearly both idiots.

From the Beacon Journal report: "Falzini said the job quickly turned ugly, however, when Neal got inside his Lexus and hit the gas pedal, tossing Falzini onto the hood and racing away with the repo man holding on."

I include links for a reason.

That's it!!! Yet another crime committed using a car. How many more must die before we limit the use of these dangerous guided missiles to official use only? They are used in crimes, and they are used criminally. They make committing crimes easier, perhaps enticing people who would not normally commit a crime to go on rampage when powered by 8 or even 12 cylinders. They should be limited to official use only.

The founding fathers never foresaw vehicles so deadly. We must stop the carnage.

    Really.

I bet it was one too many hits from the communion wine that brought about this irrational behavior.

justbite, the guy was pastor of a Baptist church. I don't think they use communion wine.
