Amazon has seemingly revealed that GTA 5 will release for PC in early 2014 and that Rockstar Games will make an official announcement in the coming days. According to a report by Dsogaming from Dec. 22, a couple of international Amazon customer service representatives have publicized a March 2014 release date for Grand Theft Auto V on PC in North America and Europe.
According to Amazon’s support agents, GTA 5 for PC will be released in North America on March 12 and go on to release in Europe on March 14. For reference, Grand Theft Auto IV was released on PC in Dec. of 2008, close to eight months after it was released on home consoles.
Two representatives from Amazon have corroborated the March 2014 release date. The first Amazon support, from Germany, stated that GTA 5 PC “will be announced on 12/24” and then continued to mention the North American and European release dates. Find the full translated statement below:
“Welcome to Amazon Chat. My name is Fatima [...]. According to our information, GTA V PC will be announced on 12/24 and according to our source; it will be released in the USA on 03/12 and here on 03/14.”
A member of Reddit followed up by asking a member of the Amazon UK’s support team. Like the original German source, the UK representative confirmed a March 2014 release date for GTA 5 PC and shared that “Rockstar is planning to release this in March of 2014.” Find the full comment below:
As of now, we do not have any information regarding the PC version of GTA V. I can see that Rockstar is planning to release this in March of 2014. For more information we encourage you to contact Rockstar games regarding this.
Amazon is no stranger to revealing release dates ahead of schedule. However, one must consider this a rumor. If it is true, we’ll know soon enough. Considering every entry to the Grand Theft Auto has found its way to PC, it seems highly probable that GTA 5 will see release on PC.
