Sony Computer Entertainment and Polyphony Digital announced on July 2 that the demo version of “Gran Turismo 6” is now available for download off the PlayStation Store.

At the current time, the “Gran Turismo 6” demo is only available in Europe, but it will be available in North America later this afternoon -- approximately by 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The “Gran Turismo 6” demo is not a large download with a file size weighing in at a reasonable 1072MB – or just over 1GB.

Those with a UK PS3 account can download the "Gran Turismo 6" demo from the Sony webstore here.

The setup of the “GT6” demo is like that of a “Gran Turismo Academy” where you will you will learn new skills and unlock additional cars the better you race. There is only one track to be found in the “Gran Turismo 6” demo and that course is Silverstone – one of the brand new confirmed track locations of “GT6.”

Cars included in the demo include the Nisan Leaf, 370Z and GT-R.

  • A quick tutorial that includes tips and tricks on the controls and navigating around the track
  • Four warm-up races using two Nissan cars, the LEAF and 370Z
  • Five time trials on the Silverstone track driving the Nissan 370Z, four of which take place on various sections of the track, and one being the full lap. That one full lap time becomes the entry time for GT Academy. Enter as often as you like before 3:59pm Pacific Time on July 28th.

“Gran Turismo 6” will see release for PS3 on Nov. 24.
