Many of the Grammy Awards 2013 winners are already being announced with a live streaming pre-telecast going on online. Among the 70 winners who have been announced online before the televised show are Jimmy Fallon, Rihanna, Lecrae and Skrillex.
On Sunday Feb. 10, the Grammys Facebook fan page began to post status updates to notify fans of the latest award winners. Among them are several stars who have been a part of hip hop. One of those was Lecrae, a gospel rapper who had been nominated for his album "Gravity." The Facebook fan page status stated:
"Congratulations to Best Gospel Album winner 'Gravity' Lecrae #GRAMMYs"
Another update praised Rihanna for one of her major pop hits, saying:
"Congratulations to Best Short Form Music Video winner “We Found Love” Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris #GRAMMYs."
Rihanna is scheduled to perform at tonight's televised show several times, but according to the LA Times live blog of the pre-telecast awards ceremony, she was not on hand to accept this award. She is reportedly planning to attend the ceremony with Chris Brown, her boyfriend who she has got back together with several years after an assault incident the night before the Grammys. Rihanna's "Talk That Talk," which features rapper Jay-Z, is among the songs nominated for awards as well.
DJ Skrillex is featured on the current A$AP Rocky rap song "Wild for the Night," and is rumored to be featured on an upcoming Kanye West song, but won an award for his work on the "Promises" remix. The Grammys Facebook post said:
"Congratulations to Best Remixed Recording winner "Promises (Skrillex & Nero Remix)" Joseph Ray, Skrillex & Daniel Stephens #GRAMMYs"
Other winners that have been announced already include late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon, who won Best Comedy Album for "Blow Your Pants Off," The Throne (Jay-Z and Kanye West) who won several awards including Best Rap Performance for their song "...Paris," and Drake who won Best Rap Album for "Take Care."
