While it will definitely be a star-studded affair set to be held on October 16, 2014 at Spring Studios in Manhattan, one of the main missions of the evening will be to raise funds for the organization known as God's Love We Deliver. Through funding and the volunteers that give of themselves so tirelessly, they are able to provide life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for those citizens with severe illnesses that have difficulty feeding themselves and living in metropolitan New York City. When the organization was first started 25 years ago, its purpose was more geared to being an HIV/AIDS service organization but has grown tremendously over the years and been greatly supported and appreciated by so many. All meals are individually tailored to meet the needs of the client and not only are the clients fed, but their children and senior caregivers are as well, at no cost.

The date of October 16, 2014, was chosen for a significant reason. This is World Food Day, a day to pay homage and open our hearts so that we can make sure that we do our best to end world hunger 'one meal at a time'. One of the largest advocates and supporters of the cause is Michael Kors. Kors has been committed to fighting world hunger for some time, and serves as a board member for God's Love We Deliver along with Blaine Trump. He has been appointed as event co-chair along with Halle Berry and John D. Idol, Chairman and CEO of Michael Kors. U.S. Senator from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand, will serve as honorary co-chair of the dinner.

This year at the Eighth Annual Awards Dinner, the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service will be awarded to Anna Wintour, Condé Nast Artistic Director and Vogue Editor-in-Chief. “I am so honored to present Anna with this award,” says Kors. “She’s been an incredible supporter of God’s Love We Deliver and her dedication to community service knows no bounds.”

The Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement will be presented to Leslie Moonves, President and CEO of CBS Corporation. Presenting him with the coveted award is going to be Academy Award-winning actress and United Nations World Food Programme Honorary Partner Halle Berry. “I’m also thrilled to be recognizing the wonderful contributions of Leslie Moonves,” says Kors. “His many years of support to God’s Love and to the creative community are truly appreciated."

On this most memorable evening of the year, it is a special time to pay tribute to the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations which support God's Love We Deliver and keep it running smoothly and as successfully as it has been.

Some of the proud past honorees include Hillary Clinton, Aerin Lauder, Michael Kors, Ryan Murphy, Philippe Dauman, Calvin Klein, Christine Quinn, Harry Slatkin, Joan Rivers, “7th on Sale”, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, Rep. Jerrold Nadler, M·A·C Cosmetics/M·A·C AIDS Fund, Prudential Douglas Elliman, Altria Group, Inc., Carolina Herrera and our volunteers Jackie Fierstein, Roz Gilbert, Ed Prostak, Evan Schwartz, 25 Years of Volunteers, Cindy Little and Jeff Gates & Mike Moran.
