The flu epidemic is said to be bad in 2013. With thousands of cases being reported around the country, apparently no place is safe from the flu as it was even seen on television Sunday night during the Golden Globe Awards. While the stars were shivering in the chilly Los Angeles weather, several were also cold from having the flu. Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Meryl Streep reportedly were hit with the nasty virus.
Meryl Streep was so sick that she was unable to attend the show. Probably better for the most part as the star didn't want to transmit the virus, some of her colleagues decided to show up instead. Hugh Jackman readily admitted that he had the flu on stage at the Golden Globes. Giving everyone a bit of a shock, the actor wasn't willing to miss the moment and risked putting off the flu shot for catching the nasty bug.
The age old saying that the show must go on was true for Jennifer Lawrence. After seeing a doctor on Sunday morning and getting a shot, the actress showed up to the red carpet to pose for pictures. Declining to shake anyone’s hand the entertainer just smiled for the cameras and tried not to spread the flu.
While the flu didn't show any signs on Hugh or Jennifer, neither entertainer would have wanted to miss the moment. Winning an award is a lifetime achievement however the flu is just a nasty bug that hopefully will go away in ten days.
