The Entertainment Software Rating Board on Wednesday shared the rating for Sony’s upcoming PS3 exclusive, “God of War: Ascension”.

In typical “God of War” fashion, the next installment has been given an M rating – suggesting that the game is suitable for Mature audiences. The reason behind the M rating was for blood, gore, intense violence, nudity, and sexual content.

Aside from the content descriptors, the ESRB didn’t share additional details or circumstances in which these situations occur.

However, all of these factors are standard for a “God of War” title which thrive on extreme violence and gushing fountains of blood as Kratos dismembers all of those who stand in his way. Nudity usually comes into play in the form of a topless female mythological entity, meanwhile nudity and sexual content will likely stem from the series’ patented sex mini-game.

The ESRB rating does note that the online portion of “God of War: Ascension” may “expose players to unrated user-generated content (PlayStation 3).”

God of War: Ascension” will see release for PlayStation 3 on March 12, 2013. The game is a prequel to the first “God of War” and tells the tale of how Kratos frees himself from Ares’.
