Eonline is reporting today that "Gimme Shelter" will open in theaters next week. "Gimme Shelter" is a movie based on the true story of Several Sources Shelter Founder Kathy Difiore. The 2014 movie is directed and written by Ron Krauss. Several of the real names were changed in the film. (Cast: Vanessa Hudgens, Brendan Fraser and Rosario Dawson.)

"Gimme Shelter" synopsis/plot

Tells the sad but triumphant story of a young girl (Agnes "Apple" Bailey ) who runs away from home to find her biological father. After meeting her father, who works on Wall Street, "Apple" tries to convince him to let her stay in his home. When things don't work out, she finds safety in a shelter for pregnant women and for the first time feels like she has a family.

"Gimme Shelter" is based on the story of Kathy Difiore." Difiore is the founder of a group of New Jersey shelters called Several Sources Shelter aka Several Sources Foundation, according to Life News.com. Her case made national news in the late 1980's, when Mother Teresa wrote a letter to the governor asking him for help in allowing Difiore to keep her shelter open.

"Gimme Shelter" has a release date of January 24 in theaters.
