When ABC axed One Life to Live (along with All My Children) last year, it looked like we’d seen the last of the residents of Llanview (and Pine Valley), but due to some swift action by ABC, likely due to the backlash the network received as a result of the cancellation, not only has General Hospital received One Life to Live’s Executive Producer and Head Writer, it has also received a number of its biggest stars, including Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Kristen Alderson (Blair’s daughter Starr), Michael Easton (John), Roger Howarth (Starr’s father Todd) and most recently Florencia Lozano (Todd’s ex-wife Tea’) - as their One Life to Live characters.
While some General Hospital viewers, and actors, have not been happy about the One Life to Live influx, General Hospital actress Nancy Lee Grahn, who has played District Attorney Alexis Davis on the daytime serial since 1996, has spoken out in support of the newest arrivals to Port Charles (the fictional setting of General Hospital) and told Soap Opera Digest in their June 18 issue, that she thinks the addition of two of One Life to Live’s actors in particular is “super”.
She told the magazine, “Florencia is such a good broad. I like her a lot. She is so smart. I am so impressed that she is a playwright. And she’s a freakin’ Brown graduate. I said to her, ‘You went to Brown? Why are you an actor?’ These two guys have exactly what I like. They like to play. They have that Tony (Geary) thing going on, especially Roger. He’s got that quirky offbeat irreverence that I like. So I’m hoping that I’ll get to do more with him. But I am probably a generation ahead of them; I’m the Mrs. Robinson to these guys.”
In April ABC renewed the 49 year-old General Hospital and cancelled the months-old lifestyle show The Revolution which replaced One Life to Live in January.
