General Hospital” young actor Tequan Richmond who plays the character of T.J. Ahsford has been nominated for the 45th annual NAACP Image Awards according to Soaps In Depth on Jan. 13.

Richmond has been nominated in the category of Outstanding Actor In A Daytime Drama Series in a list of nominees that include Kristoff St. John (Neil, Y&R), Aaron D. Spears (Justin, B&B), Redaric Williams (Tyler, Y&R) and Lawrence Saint Victor (Carter, B&B).

In limited airtime, Richmond has put in an impressive performance in a role he took over in 2012. As one of the few African-American actors on a show that has been ridiculed for its lack of diversity, Richmond shows a strong presence in scenes that he is in and has recently been involved in a storyline that has seen him get more airtime.

Tequan Richmond has appeared on various TV shows and movies. He recently received praise for his performance in the 2013 film “Blue Caprice” in which he was nominated for Black Reel Awards in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor, Motion Picture and Outstanding Breakthrough Performance, Male.

Tequan Richmond took over the role of T.J. in 2012, replacing actor Krys Meyer who originated the role.
