Polygon yesterday captured Gearbox Sofware’s reveal of the sixth playable character class of “Borderlands 2” that the developer revealed Friday night during SXSW in Austin. The tease introduced the new Vault Hunter that fans will get to play as in the game’s next DLC add-on with the following ominous message.
Deep beneath Pandora, an experiment has escaped. Bandits beware, a new Vault Hunter is coming. More mayhem awaits.
The reveal shows the silhouette of a seeming unarmed figure smashing his foes with melee attacks. So it appears that the next character class of “Borderlands 2” will follow in the footsteps of Zero or Brick, the Sledge King.
The first DLC-added character class to “Borderlands 2” was the Mecrhomancer pet class and it turned out to be a popular addition to the game. Hopefully the upcoming mysterious melee fighter will be equally well received.
“Borderlands 2” is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC/Mac. No release date has been given for the game's new playable character class DLC.
