Country music's Gary Allan returned to the top of the charts Jan. 29, with the release of his ninth studio album, "Set You Free," which moved an impressive 106,109 units during its debut week.
At this writing, the new CD is holding the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Country Album Charts, as well as on the Top 200 Pop Chart. This new success marks Allan’s first No.1 Billboard Top 200 debut and his third No. 1 debut on the Billboard Country Albums Chart.
Regarding his latest success, “It has been a long while, but it feels really good,” Allan said in a Jan. 29 correspondence shared with Examiner. “I would especially like to thank all of my fans and everyone at radio. I would also like to thank everyone on my team who has helped to get me to this point. This is a great feeling!”
Moreover, sweetening the deal is the new album's first single from the new album, “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain),” which has secured gold certification and climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, Mediabase/Country Aircheck and Music Row charts this week.
The No. 1 ranking of “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)” signifies the fifth time Allan has locked in a No. 1 song, not to mention his collection of a dozen top-10 hits.
Needless to mention, Allan's record label, MCA Nashville, is pretty pleased, too.
“What a gratifying moment for Gary and everyone on his team, including his family here at MCA and the Universal Music Group!" remarked Mike Dungan, UMG Nashville’s chairman and CEO. "This album is a spectacular piece of work, from one of music's most unique and talented artists. We are so proud to represent Gary and his music.”
