February 2nd only means one thing – it’s Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil is a very special groundhog- he can predict the weather! Every February 2nd, this very special groundhog comes out of his warm and comfy burrow as thousands of curious onlookers look on. If Phil sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, spring will come early that year.
While most groundhogs live up to eight years, Punxsutawaney Phil, named after King Phillip, drinks a magical punch during the annual summer-time Groundhog Picnic which gives him seven more years of life.
