"Amigurumi" is a Japanese term that refers to a crocheted or knitted doll or toy. Most amigurumi crochet patterns are simple, worked in a continuous round of single crochet, which makes them a good project for beginners.
This original pattern makes a little teardrop-shaped dude who stands about 7 inches tall. (Height will vary depending on your yarn selection, hook size, and tension.) The finished example shown was made using worsted weight yarn and finished with a pair of solid black 12 mm safety eyes and a pair of sunglasses found in the doll making aisle at the craft store.
