Fox News exposes global warming hoax

Yesterday Fox News pounded the final nail into the coffin of global warming.

"Sixty-three percent of the country is now covered in snow. And it's breaking Al Gore's heart because the snow is also burying his global warming theory," a gleeful Fox News anchor proclaimed.

That's right. It snowed in February in Washington, DC.

"I don't think it takes genius to to see through the no-snow-is-global warming claim," proclaimed Glenn Beck.

Republican politician Sen. James Imhofe seconded that claim.

"The global warming hearing that Barbara Boxer was going to have tomorrow has now been canceled because of the blizzard," Imhofe told Fox News.

"It's almost too easy," chuckled and boasted the Fox News anchor upon learning that the global warming hearing had been canceled because of snow - actual snow.

Not to be left out in the cold, Sean Hannity said, "It's one of the most severe winter storms in years, which would seem to contradict Al Gore's hysterical global warming theories."

Of course, it is February. And in the northern hemisphere, that means it's winter. And when it's winter, at least in the northern portions of the United States, it tends to snow.

Also, global warming science predicts that as the Earth's global temperature rises, extreme weather will be more common. So the fact that Washington, DC is being pummeled with snow doesn't necessarily disprove global warming, but rather, actually bolsters the case.

However, one should never take one storm, one day, or one year, or even one decade, to suggest that this somehow proves global warming is, or isn't, a hoax. Scientists studying the Earth's climate are using data that stretches back thousands of years.

But Fox News never lets the data get in the way of a good propaganda campaign.

"Rumor has it that another storm, could be headed, this way, next week," Hannity screamed into the camera.

    It's better than SNL.

funny, I remember how the cold was supposed to come because the melted greenland glacier and arctic ice cap changed the salt fresh water mix and moved the north atlantic flow and gulf streams. The glacier is still there, the ice caps are at record levels, the currents haven't changed.... but cold weather is a sign of what? don't give me crap about increased precipitation because snow is white and reflects sun leading to cooling. We have been telling YOU idiots that for a decade.

Well Boone, I don't really know what you're talking about, but if you really believe that if it's cold in the winter that proves global warming is a hoax, you're not quite understanding the situation.

To take one snowstorm, one winter or one decade and then extrapolate from that anecdotal evidence that the empirical data supporting global climate change is bunk, well, that's silly.

Where's your data that glaciers are at "record levels?" Record lows or record highs? Clearly the glaciers are melting. There's no evidence that I've seen showing that over the course of the 100 years, the glaciers are larger.

Once enough land is covered with water and cold glacier water drains into the ocean, yes, bad things will happen. We call them ice ages. It's happened before and it will happen again. The fear is that burning fossil fuel will hasten the next ice age, but maybe that's a good thing, we need to thin out the herd anyways.

this is rediculous!!!! everyone is all worried about the ice caps and the polar bears. where is all the tax money going? to a lost cause that is PROVEN to be just a bunch of malarkey!!!!!!!

Every time i try and find evidence for the Global warming hoax it is a bunch of idiots with zero good information at all. No sources, no scientific research nothing. then I look at all the people making claims of global warming, and oh there claims are supported by hundreds of PHDs, scientists, researchers and the like. Who am I gonna believe scientists or Fox news or some Republican named Imoehof from Oklamhoma.

Weather patterns are the result of circulation of heat and moisture, due to *uneven* heating of the planet. Global warming results in increasing that heat energy and disrupting existing patterns. The result is more energy into the system and more violent patterns due to imbalance - with extremes of heat/cold circulation. The gradients become steeper and therefore both warm and cold fronts intensify in their flow.

Therefore you SHOULD expect extreme cold in some areas and heat waves in some areas as a result of global warming. Rather than contradict global warming, they support it.
