Gardner-White has chosen the volunteers, donors and employees of four Michigan charities: YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, the Southeastern Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross, Volunteers of America and the Macomb County Habitat for Humanity to meet Angelo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17th at the Auburn Hills store located at 4445 N. Atlantic Blvd.

While there, they will also enjoy a 20% discount on furniture, and Angelo will provide decorating tips as well as answer their design questions.

"It’s not every day that our volunteers, donors and employees get to meet a celebrity designer who can give them tips on how their homes can be a reflection of their personalities," says Chad Creekmore, vice president of membership and marketing of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit. "When people are happier at home, their productivity skyrockets at work. At the Y, we really like that."

"I want to help people change their lives through design," says Angelo who founded his company in 1995. "I chose Gardner-White for our gallery store because they’re such a good fit for us. They get how your surroundings impact your life."

"This marriage was made in heaven," said Steve Tracy, president of Gardner-White. "Angelo says that changing the way you feel about your home and space can change your life, and we want to do that for every person who comes in our stores. Angelo is full of life and energy and he loves designing, building wallpapering and lighting. He takes generic spaces and gives them character through design and accessory details. We’re very excited to have him in all our stores."

After nearly a decade on television shows where he helped individual homeowners create the spaces of their dreams, Surmelis created the angelo:HOME brand in 2008 to bring affordable style to any home. From living room, dining and outdoor furniture, to beautifully woven and printed top of bed, case goods, bedroom suites, rugs, blankets, mattresses, and lighting, the collections are designed to look as if they came from multiple sources – but all work together. With more than 1,000 products and growing, the brand is now sold through the top online retailers, as well as 100+ local retailers across the United States, including the first brand-own boutique located in downtown Los Angeles.
