Former Senator Russell Pearce says Aurora victims lacked courage to stop shooter (Photos)

James Holmes walked into a theater in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, July 20, 2012 and opened fire on unsuspecting victims watching "The Dark Knight Rises." Covered in body armor and armed with a small arsenal, Holmes injured 58 people while killing 12. Former Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce still believes that one of the people in the theater should have stood up to him and confronted him.

Yes, he believes that someone should have confronted Holmes and tried to take him down. At least, that's what Pearce said in a couple Facebook posts before being deleted. He criticized them for having no courage and for actually not being armed.

Pearce believes that had they been armed, lives would have been saved. An excerpt from his first post was as follows:

"What a heart breaking story. Had someone been prepared and armed they could have stopped this "bad" man from most of this tragedy. He was two and three feet away from folks, I understand he had to stop and reload. Where were the men of flight 93???? Someone should have stopped this man."

It certainly didn't stop there though as Pearce continued on saying people should have been armed so that lives could have been saved. He even said that "all that was needed is one Courages(sic) / Brave man prepared mentally or otherwise to stop this it could have been done."

Once getting his post all over the media and being ripped to shreds by social media sites, the news, and journalists, Pearce posted again to say he was talking about other things. Most notably, gun control laws.

Pearce said in his second post that gun control laws were to blame for Holmes not being stopped and not the victims.

Again, this whole incident has turned the "gun control" conversation back into a major situation and that is no surprise. The actions of Holmes are really calling any and everything to light so that something can be attributed from making sure this doesn't happen again.
