Update 8/30/14: Giselle has found a home!
Thousands of shares and hundreds of comments have not led to a home for a dog who has called a Houston, Texas, area boarding kennel "home" for nearly two years.
Giselle, a mixed breed dog who weighs approximately 50 pounds, was originally discovered wandering near a boarding facility with a hurt paw - she was captured, taken to Texas A & M for treatment and today, she no longer has pain in her paw.
Giselle is, by all accounts, a good girl who just needs to catch a break. She is described as a sweet dog who loves people, playing and belly rubs. Even the sweetest of dogs can be worn down by long-term boarding; in early May, The Forgotten Pet Advocates Facebook page made the following post about Giselle's growing sadness:
An FPA volunteer took Giselle out today for a little R & R - she has been waiting OVER A YEAR AND A HALF for a family to "want" her !
Please "share" this sweet girl - she needs out of the kennel - she is getting very depressed. She appreciates every little thing - look at her - telling the volunteer "Thank You".
Volunteers do their best to get Giselle out of the kennel environment for walks and playtime - but it is not the same as being part of a family. Please take a moment to network on Giselle's behalf - she has waited a long time for her happily-ever-after. According to Giselle's advocates, she is fully vetted and good with other dogs - she just needs a good home.
Anyone with questions or who is interested in offering Giselle a safe, loving home, is asked to email email@example.com
