An image from a Japanese sneaker magazine on Sunday revealed a possible new collaboration between Nike and popular clothing brand Supreme. The sneaker in the image, which appears to be taken from an issue of Shoes Master, is the Nike Flyknit Lunar1+, which combines Nike's latest innovation - the seamless Flyknit upper - and their well-renowned Lunarlon cushioning, but with that added touch by Supreme that gets sneakerheads in a frenzy.
The Supreme Flyknit appears to be an black and grey colorway with the popular Supreme logo on the tongue of the shoe. What makes the collaboration stand apart from the other Flyknit Lunar1+ colorways is the placement of "Supreme" on the upper. It takes the place of where the swoosh would normally appear on the medial side while a smaller swoosh is placed closer to the heel. It is unknown at this time what the shoe will look like on the lateral side.
According to Instagram user ma303_1982, who posted the magazine picture online, the shoe is slated for an early October release but nothing has been confirmed at the moment. Considering Nike and Supreme are frequent collaborators, a release like this would not be out of their wheelhouse especially considering how minimalist Supreme's design appears to be.
