Dana Brunetti is known for his Twitter banter with fans, as well as some notorious feuding, but this time around the producer is feeding the flames of a pretty hot rumor. On January 9 Brunetti tweeted a photo of a "meeting with 'agents' at CAA." Creative Artists Agency is touted as one of the biggest agencies in film and just happens to represent a "Fifty Shades of Grey" favorite, Henry Cavill, who is quickly becoming the fans' choice to play the sexy Christian Grey.
Brunetti is the most vocal member of the "Fifty Shades" film team, which also consists of his producing partner Michael De Luca, author E L James and screenwriter Kelly Marcel. His most recent tweet will definitely spark even more rumors and speculation regarding Henry Cavill's involvement in the film. The current "Man of Steel" was once named the "Unluckiest Man in Hollywood" by Empire magazine due to his frequently being passed up for big roles. He had been rumored to play Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter," Edward Cullen in "Twilight" and James Bond, all parts that eventually went to other actors. It seems that his streak of bad luck is over as he finds himself one of Hollywood's most sought after actors. Cavill was named the hottest breakout star of 2013 and along with "Fifty Shades" is rumored to be cast in the "Godzilla" reboot.
Dana Brunetti's meeting with CAA may not be at all related to "Fifty Shades of Grey" as producers often network within the industry. There is also no mention of Cavill's rep Michael Cooper attending the meeting. The tweet is simply fodder for the rumor mill and with Brunetti's experience in social media he likely knew that. So was he trying to throw the media into a frenzy to cast them off the NC-17 rating story that has not been received well or just having a little fun? Only Brunetti knows the answer to that question but in the meantime fans can hope. Many in the "greysessed" community would love to see Henry Cavill cast as Christian Grey.
