FIBO Power Pro Germany: Johnnie O. Jackson qualifies for 2012 Olympia

Mama Said Knock You Out lyrics,"Don't call it a comeback" by LL Cool J, was the first thing that came to mind when Johnnie O. Jackson won the FIBO Power Pro Germany bodybuilding event. However, as opposed to the song's lyrics, it is a comeback, and a big one for Jackson who came into the show against new and seasoned athletes.

The winner's interview on Muscular Development

Shawn Ray and Bob Cicherillo of Muscular Development [MD] interviewed Jackson after the FIBO Power Pro show. The interview prompted very humble and elated answers from Jackson. Here's an excerpt:

SR-- I know victory’s sweet, but at the end of the day we do this because we want to be on that big stage, that Olympia stage, and your good buddy Branch Warren has been just a mover and a shaker lately. How good is it going to feel to the get monkey off your back even though you’re headed to Madrid next week?

JOJ-- I can’t even explain. I’m actually choking up. I’m trying to man up right now. You know, trying to keep it even. It’s wonderful. The Olympia is the most prestigious show in the world to me. To make it back there again at this time in my career is so awesome. And, to look the way I do—you know the challenge. To actually get there and challenge people; not just be there and be a wall flower. You know it’s wonderful.

Five years since a number one win

Jackson has been competing over the years, but has not been in the number one spot. His last first place win was during the 2007 IFBB Atlantic City Pro Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Contest; five years ago. According to Cicherillo Jackson's new program with Dennis James worked for him, but with the tight competition Jackson did not sit on his laurels between prejudging and the night show. He worked on his legs to bring them in dryer.

What is IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson up to this week?

Even with this victory Jackson is not taking it easy this week. IFBB Pro Jackson competes at the Mr. Europe Bodybuilding show in Madrid, Spain April 28, 2012. Between the Mr. Europe he plans to stay sharp with a photo shoot on Monday, Tuesday and Wednessday with All Stars, his new sponsor.
