NYCBeatles50, a collection of events to pay tribute to the Beatles' 50th anniversary in America, will take place in New York in February, Beatles Examiner learned Dec. 9.

Specific events will include “Twist & Shout: New York Celebrates the Beatles,” a star-studded concert at the Apollo Theater in Harlem on Feb. 6; a gala “America Celebrates the Beatles All-Star Concert” on Feb. 7, and an “Across the Universe” Beatles Festival Feb. 8-9. More events will be added. The events, including several celebratory events and gala concerts across the city, will benefit the Food Bank For New York City.

Organizers say the NYC Beatles 50 celebration highlights the number 50 throughout the series of events with 50 bands from 50 countries having been invited to perform in New York City. Most tickets will be priced at only $50 each. This city-wide, globally-inclusive series of events and shows to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles visit to the United States is still adding artists, celebrity presenters and panelists.

Some of the members of the advisory board for NYCBeatles50 include Sirius/XM and former WABC DJ Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow, former ABC-TV host Dick Cavett, Little Anthony, Tommy James, Spanky McFarlane, Tommy Roe, Ken Michaels, host of "Every Little Thing" and co-host of "Things We Said Today" (with yours truly), "World's Greatest Beatles Artist" Shannon and former New York Yankee Dave Winfield.

More updates, artist lineup and additions will be announced soon. Tickets will go on sale shortly to coincide with the launch of the NYCBEatles50 website at
