Eric Holder and homeschooling: Channeling the Prussian System?

Attorney General Eric Holder, Ruling Class doyenne and self-appointed whiz-bang expert on the question of Constitutional rights, argues that "a government isn’t violating anyone’s rights if homeschooling is banned altogether."

In an article headlined Eric Holder: Banning Homeschooling Doesn’t Violate Fundamental Rights there is no mention of where exactly in the Constitution Holder suddenly discovered a heretofore unknown power explicitly granted to the federal government that allows it to ban homeschooling, let alone schooling of any kind.

And there's more. Quoting from the article again, "The U.S. Attorney General has said this about homeschooling. There is no fundamental liberty to homeschool. So long as a government bans homeschooling broadly and equally, there is no violation of your rights."

Does this sound familiar? "So long as a government bans – guns, online poker, some but not other drugs, raw milk, incandescent light bulbs, sugar-filled sodas larger than 16 ounces, goose liver, and anything else uncontrolled government arrogantly chooses to ban – broadly and equally, there is no violation of your rights."

Beyond the Constitutional issues – and above them – is the libertarian non-aggression principle that all free people understand to mean that Eric Holden and his dictatorial ilk have zero right to initiate force, intimidation or fraud against anyone, home schooled, school schooled or unschooled.

All tyrants through the ages have understood that the key to controlling their lowly citizen-serfs is to control their thoughts.

And that included 19th Century "educators" like Horace Mann, the "father of American public school education," and his fellow socialist indoctrinators who were so smitten by the Prussian state's system of mind control that they worked to impose the same on America's children.

As award-winning educator John Taylor Gatto put it in an article for lewrockwell.com, "The Prussian mind, which carried the day, held a clear idea of what centralized schooling should deliver: 1) Obedient soldiers to the army; 2) Obedient workers for mines, factories, and farms; 3) Well-subordinated civil servants, trained in their function; 4) Well-subordinated clerks for industry; 5) Citizens who thought alike on most issues; 6) National uniformity in thought, word, and deed."

Little doubt then that the Horace Mann-Prussian System channelers like Eric Holder would love to abolish every form of education outside of the government brainwashing structure, including homeschooling, private schooling, distance learning, and ultimately the freely-accessed Internet itself.

The only antidote for this poison is the continuing Modern American Libertarian Movement.
