Are you feeling adventurous? Are you an outdoor enthusiast who loves the majestic beauty that only the winter season can create? Then here's your chance to sign up for the special Ice Caves and Mom's Apple Pie event being offered by the Holden Arboretum on Saturday, January 19.
Ice Caves and Mom's Apple Pie Event Secret passageways and hidden trails at Nelson Ledges State Park in Garrettsville, Ohio are in your future when you take part of the winter hike featuring ice caves presented by the Holden Arboretum.
Participants will be able to observe and explore a variety of ice formations, frozen waterfalls, temporary stalactites and stalagmites and even the unique ice needle. Special Note: Be aware that along the way there will be narrow passageways to navigate, rugged trails with possible icy walking surfaces, numerous small hills and even some boulders to scramble around.
Be sure you dress appropriately for weather conditions.
After the ice caves hike, everyone will proceed to a nearby restaurant for some lunch and warm apple pie (not included in the price of the hike).
Hours for the Ice Cave Hike are 9 a.m. - noon. Registration is required. Cost is $30 for nonmembers. Directions for this event will be sent upon registration.
