Editorial cartoon suggests Navy SEALs assassinate Tea Party Republicans

An editorial cartoon published by Arizona Daily Star cartoonist David Fitzsimmons suggests President Obama send Navy SEALs to assassinate Tea Party Republicans.

The editorial is just one more example of the jihad being waged against the Tea Party by operatives of the Democrat-media complex.

The cartoon is a spin-off of the SEAL raid that took out Osama bin Laden, and relies heavily on the current media template - driven by the Democratic party - that the Tea Party is comprised of terrorists bent on destroying the country through fiscal sanity.

Ken Shepherd of Newsbusters, observing the absense of media criticism over the outrageous cartoon, writes:

Today Tucson congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) cast her first vote since she was critically injured in a January shooting.

You'll recall that in the weeks that followed, the media bemoaned the incivility -- supposedly predominantly conservative in nature -- of the political debate which had allegedly created a climate of hate.

Imagine, for just one second, the howls of indignation that would ensue if the cartoon suggested SEALs take out Democrats.

Just last week, an op-ed at Politico, American University law professor William Yeomans called Tea Party Republicans "full blown terrorists" and blamed them for the debt crisis years in the making.

He didn't stop there, however.

Writing, "The challenge for America is to stand firm in the face of terrorism, no matter the source," Yeomans suggests that deadly force be used against the Tea Party for demanding fiscal responsibility.

So much for civility from the same liberals who lectured us about the dangers of cross hair graphics placed on representations of congressional districts.

It got so bizarre after the shooting that some members of the media balked at saying "cross hairs" for fear of sending a crazed lunatic off the deep end.

Matthew Balan reports at Newsbusters that CNN's John King apologized shortly after a guest used the term during a segment on his program.

"We're trying to get away from using that kind of language," he said.

Apparently it's okay to try to make people think Sarah Palin played a part in the shootings, but it's not okay to say "crosshairs".

To put this in perspective, cross hair graphics are not okay, but a cartoon actually suggesting Tea Party Republicans be assassinated by Navy SEALs is just fine as far as liberal Democrats are concerned.
