See also

Decoupage is the craft of decorating a surface with paper and a lacquer finish. It has become all the rage in recent years as people use the technique to upcycle old furniture, home decor and more. The technique is fairly simple and lends itself well to creating lasting Easter memories.

DECOUPAGE EASTER EGGS

Supplies

  • Hard boiled, wooden or blown out eggs
  • Patterned paper napkins or tissue paper
  • Decoupage medium, such as Mod Podge
  • Scissors
  • Sponge brush

Directions

Paint or color your eggs beforehand, if desired and allow to dry completely before continuing. Cut out the pattern(s) from the napkins/tissue paper (if using napkins, use the top layer and discard the remaining layers). Using the sponge brush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the egg and position your cutouts while it is still wet. Continue adding designs as desired, adding more decoupage medium if needed to adhere the cutouts. Allow to dry then brush one more thin layer onto the egg to seal the pattern completely. Do not handle until completely dry or you will leave fingerprints on your eggs.
