Duck Dynasty fans speak out against A&E

Duck Dynasty fans are speaking out against A&E producers of the top ranked reality show with the indefinite suspension of Phil Robertson. Many are boycotting A&E and asking cable companies to remove them from their television line up.

A landslide of commentators are sliding in with Phil Robertson's right to freedom of speech and religion. It is his right as a Christian to answer GQ Magazines question to Phil honestly. When asked what he considered sinful Phil expressed his Christians believes and as soon as A&E read the comment they started damage control in case there would be a major backlash from the LGBT community.

Phil Robertson said, "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man’s anus," Robertson told GQ. "That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

“Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine," he later added. “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers -- they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

Many Duck Dynasty fans say like it or not Phil Robertson has every right to express his opinion. Here are some top comments of Duck Dynasty fans:

  1. Dianna Sharp - "Well you have lost me and my family as viewers of A&E. Duck Dynasty was one of the few family shows where I can honestly say they make me laugh out loud all the way through it. The only other show that can do that is The Big Bang Theory! Sorry A&E you are making a whopper of a mistake and if you think another network is not waiting in the wings for this huge show to come to them, you are mistaken!"

  2. Art Sieber - "I will block every channel A&E and Disney control if they ban Phil."

  3. Dan Roth -"What could he have said besides nothing? The political correctness police got him. They want speech control. If they are so right then no matter what anyone says it will not change that. They must be a bit concerned. Political correctness always supports a false premise. That is why they have to punish and ostracize any violators."

  4. Cynthia Yates - "Seems to me it is just a way to try to remove a show with Christian morals from TV. If you can't do it any other way, let's judge someone on his own personal beliefs. We all have the right to our opinions. Why is it ok to judge him for his remarks, but not the other direction? It is not a one way street."

  5. Robert Newby - "A&E and Hollywood are what is wrong with our country. Being tolerant is mistaken for acceptance of lifestyles the majority of us don't agree with. Do what you want in your bedroom or barnyard and quit trying to justify your beliefs as more correct than mine."

  6. Rob K. - "Lets see. It seems he stated his own opinion. In stating his opinion he did not advocate violence or discrimination against anyone. The GLAAD spokesperson, on the other hand labelled him a liar, and called his opinion vile, extreme, and a stain. The spokesperson also between the lines called for action to be taken against the network by their sponsors. When did it become so bad in the USA to state your own opinion? Should people now ask others not to donate to GLAAD because their spokesperson does not respect free speech? Part of wanting acceptance is accepting the fact that others will disagree with you, and that they have the right to state that. I agree with Susan Garrett, we should contact A&E to let them know we disagree with their decisions and are considering a boycott of their network until he is back on the show."

  7. Enke - "Well, they asked, he stated his opinion. Sounds like GQ wanted to put him under fire. Now, we simply sit back and watch the people who claim that everyone should respect their opinion, choice, and lifestyle go out and criticize Phil for stating his opinion, choice, and lifestyle."

  8. Scott - "Once again a television network caves in to political correctness instead of standing by the man because he has strong moral convictions. Everybody knows we just can`t have that sort of positive behavior in America today. It`s just not allowed, and that is, in a nutshell a lot of what`s wrong with these United States today. We need more guys like Phil and this country would be a lot better off! Boycott A&E, they are a bunch of spineless jellyfish."

  9. Marlyn - "I'm sure now that Phil has been suspended, the rest of the family will refuse to do the show & I don't blame them one bit. I hate to see the Duck's go but they are proof of the bad shape this country is in today. Look how Paula Deen was crucified. I agree with Phil 100% & I personally do not like the way the gay life style is being shoved down my throat. You want to live like that, go for it just do not demand that I accept it. God bless all the Duck family. We will surely miss you."

  10. Jeff Mills - "Go to the A&E website..."Be Original"..The hypocrisy is amazing. I get "tolerance" but that doesn't mean you have to compromise you own beliefs. There are many things I don't agree with or the way others live their own lives. Many people may disagree with how I live my life or my beliefs....we preach tolerance, but it only flows one way these days. If I disagree with being gay, that's perceived as intolerant, which is insane. Has anyone watched A&E and the shows they air? If Phil's comment gets him suspended then you might as well remove 50% of the shows they air. We are all entitled to our views and opinions. We all know the foundation of the family and show...if you don't like the premise, don't watch the show...its an opinion people...suspending Phil shows an intolerance to a differing view."
