Dr. Mehmet Oz unveiled his 7-day anti-aging plan to aid weight loss, reverse aging, and boost energy on the March 3 episode of the Dr. Oz Show ("Dr. Oz's Ultimate Anti-Aging Guide").

Dr. Oz said if you're constantly feeling run-down, you're not alone. Fortunately, there are simple steps you can take to recharge your batteries in just 7 days.

Day 1: Prebiotic shake. Dr. Tasneem Bhatia, a holistic health expert, said prebiotics (not probiotics, which are also super-healthy) are specialized plant fibers that promote the growth of good bacteria in your gut.

Dr. Bhatia suggested a prebiotic shake for breakfast to increase good gut bacteria, which in turn aids digestion, reduces inflammation, and facilitates weight loss:

Day 2: Citrus fruits boost brain health. Nutritionist Heidi Skolnik recommended consuming a citrus fruit with every meal to enhance brain function and energy. She said a convenient way to get citrus during the day is with a citrus zinger, which you can use to extract juice from fruits and infuse them into your water bottle.

Day 3: Flax seeds are anti-aging superstars. Dr. Oz said flax seeds are antioxidant-rich super-foods that curb hunger, lower high blood pressure, clear clogged coronaries, and prevent heart disease.

Day 4: Dandelion detoxes your liver. Tim Ferriss, author of The 4-Hour Body, said dandelion rids your body of free radicals, detoxes your liver, and is a natural diuretic. Dandelion is also rich in vitamins A, B, C, and D, and contains zinc, iron, and potassium.

Day 5: Iron-rich foods fight fatigue. Dr. Bhatia said iron deficiency is a major cause of fatigue. She recommended eating iron-rich foods, preferably from high-quality sources such as grass-fed beef and humanly raised poultry and fish.

Day 6: Coconut oil smooth wrinkles. Dermatologist Dr. Jeanine Downie said coconut oil fights wrinkles from the inside and out. She suggested using coconut oil when cooking, and rubbing coconut oil on your face and hair for its anti-aging and conditioning benefits.

Day 7: Epsom salt bath rejuvenation. Dr. Oz suggested soaking in an Epsom salt bath because it eases tension, promotes restful sleep, draws out toxins, and aids weight loss. On a previous episode, one woman demonstrated live how an Epsom salt bath helped her lose an inch off her waist and another inch off her thighs.

Shaun T's Five-Minute Fat-Blasting Workout

On a separate segment of his show, Dr. Oz spoke to fitness expert Shaun T, who recommended a 5-minute fat-burning workout you can do at home. Shaun T, creator of the Rockin' Body Workout, said focused interval training is the secret to his fat-blasting workout.

The key is to work large muscles to fatigue and then do the same with another body part. This way, you tone muscles while also getting a cardio workout. Shaun T recommends exercising 25 minutes a day, but said a 5-minute booster can fire up your metabolism.

Dr. Oz Reveals Anti-Aging Herbs That Fight Stress and Anxiety

Dr. Oz said anxiety is the No. 1 mental health condition in the United States, surpassing even depression. Over 40 million Americans suffer from chronic anxiety. Dr. Oz said several anti-aging herbs dramatically reduce anxiety and stress:

  • Ashwagandha. Dr. Oz said ashwagandha regulates cortisol, the "stress" hormone, to give you a calm feeling and promote restful sleep.
  • Ginger tea. Ginger tea has anti-inflammatory properties and induces a relaxed mood by regulating cortisol.
  • Rhodiola. Rhodiola is an anti-aging, anti-stress plant that has been shown to relieve depression and fight fatigue.
  • Astragalus. Dr. Oz said astragalus improves energy and stimulates the immune system to fight the common cold, blood disorders, cancer and even HIV/AIDS.
