Update 9/29/13: Uno is leaving the facility and joining a foster home through Bella-Reed Pit Bull Rescue. Thanks to everyone who networked on Uno's behalf.
A frightened, kennel stressed dog named "Uno," is destroying his body at the Burlington County Animal Shelter in Westampton, N.J.
On Thursday night, shelter volunteers, desperate to find help for Uno, posted a photo of what the distraught dog is doing to his own body - simply stating that he is going kennel crazy, without the photo, is not enough to show how distressed he is.
The following dire words were shared on Thursday evening about Uno, who is at risk of being destroyed at any moment due to his behavior:
Pic of what Uno is doing to himself attached. Cutting his mouth on kennel and food dish, panic attacks , etc. We need help.
More sorrowful words with regards to Uno were shared by a volunteer who responded to concerns that the injured dog, who is covered in blood in the photo:
A volunteer most certainly did clean him up. We have been pleading with the public for anyone to rescue this poor boy but everyone has turned a blind eye......until now.
How sad that It takes what we see on a daily basis with our dogs....the fear, the sadness, the pain. No one seems to care unless you show them.
The volunteers are sad and depressed, and Uno is in need of help because of the stress that being confined has taken on him.
Urgent help is needed if he has any hope of a future.
