The Jodi Arias murder case has been compared to that of Casey Anthony. Both women were charged with first-degree murder, in their 20s at the time the crimes occurred and beautiful. Casey Anthony was acquitted on charges she suffocated her two-year-old daughter Caylee to death. Jodi Arias went on trial on Jan. 2, 2013, for the June 4, 2008, murder of her on-again-off-again boyfriend Travis Alexander. Casey Anthony beat the death penalty in her case, while Jodi Arias is currently on trial and faces the death penalty. Many in the public, as well as news media outlets, have remarked on similarities between the cases.

Do you find similarities between Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias cases?

One of the most notable differences between the two is that Casey Anthony was accused of murdering her child, while Jodi Arias states she killed Travis Alexander in self-defense.

While the death penalty factors into both questions, some have questioned whether a person’s good looks or attractiveness weighs in a jury’s decision, making them less likely to send someone to the death penalty.

Casey Anthony is not only very pretty, but her daughter Caylee was also a beautiful child with huge, bright eyes and a lovely smile. Could the fact that Casey and Caylee looked like a picturesque example of mother and child that the jury couldn’t believe the monster the prosecution portrayed Casey Anthony to be?

Will Jodi Arias’ good looks work in her favor, making it difficult for a jury to accept she could shoot her boyfriend, stab him 29 times and slit his throat from ear to ear?

Florida teacher Debra LaFave was spared prison time and sentenced to probation after she was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery on a 14-year-old student. Her criminal defense attorney told the court she was too pretty to go to jail.

Did a jury feel that Casey Anthony was too pretty to be guilty? Will a jury find that Jodi Arias is too pretty for the death penalty?

HLN host Nancy Grace spoke with Radar Online and stated she does not believe that Jodi Arias is too pretty for the death penalty. She also spoke about similarities between the Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias cases.

"I am always concerned about someone's physical characteristics influencing a jury and a judge," Nancy Grace told Radar Online exclusively. “Jodi Arias, in my estimation, shot Travis Alexander in the face after he was down bleeding and naked in the shower. She took photos of his dead body!"

Nancy Grace continued, “Similar to Tot Mom [Casey Anthony], she is a seemingly bright girl and hopefully her good looks won't affect how the jury looks at her."
