Disney Fairies movie festival this week on Disney Channel

Disney Channel is airing a spring Tinker Bell movie festival this week. The five Tinker Bell movies tell the story of the adventures of Tinker Bell before she met Peter Pan. The Fifth Disney Fairies movie, “The Pirate Fairy” was released on Blu-ray April 1. The other movies in the series are: “Tinker Bell,” “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,” “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue,” and “Secret of the Wings.”

The Disney Fairies movies are direct to video releases with limited theatrical premieres. The movies star Mae Whitman as Tinker Bell, Anjelica Huston as Queen Clarion, Jane Horrocks as Fairy Mary, and Lucy Liu as Silvermist. The first movie in the series, “Tinker Bell,” was released in 2008. The newest release, “The Pirate Fairy,” starring Tom Hiddleston (“Thor: The Dark World”) and Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”), was the first movie in the series to focus on characters other than Tinker Bell, although Tinker Bell does play a significant role. The next Disney Fairies movie is “Legend of the NeverBeast” which is scheduled to be released in December.

Monday, April 14

“Tinker Bell” – 8 p.m.

Tuesday, April 15

“Tinker Bell” – 12:30 p.m.

“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” – 8 p.m.

Wednesday, April 16

“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” – 12:30 p.m.

“Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” – 8 p.m.

Thursday, April 17

“Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” – 12:30 p.m.

“Secret of the Wings” – 8 p.m.

Friday, April 18

“Secret of the Wings” – 12:30 p.m.
