I was invited to attend the Digital Fall Wearable Technology Fashion Show on Monday, 9/30, here in downtown San Francisco.
My general interest is wearable technology and what advances we have made to look sexy and not bulky or awkward. That said I waited with baited breath for the wearable technology portion.
The first of the designers with wearable fashion was Kristin Neidlinger from sensoree.com. The Heart Sync is a heart synchronizing game to find when our hearts beat as one. The Heart Sync design illuminates with SENSOREE bio media which are heart sensors that translate to light on this wearable technology.
My favorite of the SENSOREE experience was the GER MOOD SWEATER which interprets emotions and displays mood instantly as an interactive light display. This is ingenious! Now you know before you approach someone if they are in a bad mood or good mood. The GER Mood Sweater is currently available for pre-order on their site.
My favorite portion is when they brought out more realistic wearable technology fashion that we can now wear in the streets because I am pretty sure I would get odd looks wearing the GER Mood Sweater. Monster’s iridescent headphones, the Monster Diamond Tears, showed luminous colors that change when seen from different angles. It was interesting to see them on the runway with the different light reflections. You can purchase the unique Monster Diamond Tears headphones on the Monster Cable Website for $299.95
The Pebble E-Paper Watch for iPhone and Android in different colors, were also at the fashion show. This sleek smart watch fit in perfect with the fashion show; they were vibrant and modern. The Pebble can be customized by apps, watch faces, notifications, and coding. The product is currently on back-order for $150.00 on Pebble’s site.
When the men models came out with the Recon Jet glasses and Snow goggles the ladies went crazy in the audience. The Recon snow goggles looked cool but I didn’t know if it was the Recon Oakley or Zeal design. I don’t ski so that may be another reason why I didn’t pay attention. The Jet sunglasses looked awesome and I would love to test them outJ. According to the Recon site “Recon Jet is a heads-up display for sports that unobtrusively delivers relevant information at a quick glance. The Jet features a powerful microcomputer and a full-color widescreen display designed for active outdoor use, mounted on high-performance polarized sports eyewear.” The Recon Jet is available for pre-order and will be avail to purchase on their site for 599.00
This fashion show has gotten me excited to attend the Wearable’s conference in LA on 12/10!
