Diane von Furstenberg has a golden moment.
Diane von Furstenberg’s fashion show, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2014, was held at the Spring Studios, on February 9, 2014, in New York City.
The garments displayed were made of luxurious printed fabrics in four color-stories: black, gold and white; a subtle burst of modest shades of reds and purples (radiant orchid, anyone?), a palette of shades of blue overlaying black; and a finale of gold.

The design worn by von Furstenberg during her designer finale walk was a choice of sheath dress in the spirit of the modest shades of red and purple color story. It was quite appropriate for her and read very classy.
Most designs were the signature wraps and sheaths, while one jumpsuit stood out with its bright royal blue pant with loose fitting, pocketed midsection.
While the staging of black backdrop with white scallops and the like on the runway was somewhat distracting from the beauty of the designs, the show (not surprisingly) was very well attended by the upper echelon of fashion.
In attendance were fashion matriarch, editor-in chief of American Vogue and artistic director of Condé Nast, Anna Wintour with her daughter, Bee Shaffer; fellow designer Tommy Hilfiger, and his wife Dee; and the Hilton sisters, Paris and Nicky.
Interestingly enough, both Anna Wintour and Hilfiger’s wife, Dee, were decked out in two-tone fur coats – in stunning colors of emerald green with brown fur (Wintour) and yellow leather with brown fur (Ocleppo-Hilfiger). Both ensembles presented well, as refined elegance.
As is known in fashion history, and as presented in documentary, Wintour has always had a love of fur, which has even outlived severe razing attempts by animal rights organizations.
In the Diane von Furstenberg NYFW Fall 2014 collection, a piece that most assuredly caught Wintour’s eye was a royal blue fur trimmed jacket, with royal blue and black dress. It is by far the favorite pick of ours! The fur is voluminous around the neck, in a manner of a shawl, but tapers off towards the hem, so as not to be overpowering.
