On December 3, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Legislative Affairs, Nelson Peacock, responding to request from several U.S. Senators, including Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), wrote: “Our conservative estimate suggests that ICE would require a budget of more than $135 billion to apprehend, detain and remove the nation’s entire illegal immigrant population.”
In July 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) released the results of a study which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels. The study found that U.S. state and local governments shell out $84.2 billion annually in various services (law enforcement, schools, social services, etc.), with California taxpayers alone, spending $21 billion on illegal aliens every year.
The same study found that $29 billion is spent every year in federal funds on illegal aliens.
So, while it would cost a one-time fee of about $135 billion to deport every single illegal alien in the country, it is actually a bargain considering the fact that it already costs us $113 billion annually to keep them here.
In other words, the mass deportation would pay for itself in a little over a year.
Incidentally, in 2007, the DHS estimated the cost of deporting all illegal aliens to be approximately $94 billion.

It would be nice IF those things ever happened, but we all know they won't. They never have to take the medicine they so gleefully cram down our throats. I'm pretty sure even if they HAD a cartel neighbor, the houses in the mega-rich areas are spaced far apart - they would likely never know it. (And one call to their local law enforcement or ICE would take of THAT nasty little problem for them!)

I always wondered how big businesses could hire illegals and get away with it until I became a business man and found out that the "illegals" have a lot of fake documents etc etc. I pay them minimum wage. Not less. I take taxes out of their salaries.

There is actually a much better way to deal with our illegal immigration problem. The IMF (international monetary fund) grants Mexico a yearly stipend of credit (this year about $73B) to grapple with it's economic woes. If our government deducted $100,000 from that stipend for every illegal Mexican alien found within our borders, Mexico would build the wall OVERNIGHT! We HAVE to make illegal immigration THEIR PROBLEM, not ours. In less than a month, every single illegal alien, Mexican or otherwise, would vacate our country because, a homecoming after-the-fact would see them rotting in their homeland jails for costing their government and their people at least $100,000! But you know, that makes too much sense. Oh well...
As usual the government is trying to figure out the most expensive way to accomplish this task. If you want the illegals to return to their native countries AND STAY THERE you have to quit baiting them to come here. We are not doing them any good by baiting them to come here with the promises of milk and honey and then not be able to follow through. In order to do this we must impose HEAVY fines on employers who hire them, Land lords who rent to them and require proof of legal status for any government services including health care, education, welfare, housing subsidies, Or any other services. When these people find that they can not get work here, cannot get housing here, cannot get medical serivices or educational services nor buy property or vehicles here they will eventually get the message. When that time comes most will self deport back to their own native lands and do what they should have done in the first place which is to rebel against the corrupt and illegal governments of their country and bring about change just as the pioneers of our own nation did to win our freedom. This is a win-win program for us and also for them and the rest of the world. Only by fixing the problems in their own country will these people truly be free and able to prosper for now and generations to come. These people deserve to live and work in a free and prosperous environment but they must do it for themselves.
Do keep in mind though that deporting an illegal is pointless w/o the border being secured. Doing such will take the military and with such a $20-25 billion a year budget to maintain after a setup fee.
But this report also lackings many things such as crime costs, among not counting the costs of the legal children of illegals which keep rising at 350-400k a year.
