On Friday morning, the Detroit Film Critics Society announced their 2013 winners in all 10 categories. Spike Jonze's film "Her" won the top honors as Best Picture, beating out the other nominees, "12 Years a Slave,", "Before Midnight," "Gravity" and "Short Term 12." "Her" led the way, winning three awards in total, scoring also the Best Screenplay category (Spike Jonze) as well as Best Supporting Actress category (for Scarlett Johansson, on add choice considering that only her voice appears in the film).

Also winning big was "Dallas Buyers Club," which earned Matthew McConaughey the award for Best Actor and Jared Leto as Best Supporting Actor.

Brie Larson won twice, for Best Actress in "Short Term 12" and for Breakthrough for her stellar year (in addition to "Short Term 12," she appeared in "Don Jon" and "The Spectacular Now").

Although his film didn't win Best Picture, Alfonso Cuaron's was chosen as Best Director for his stunning, ground-breaking visual masterpiece, "Gravity." Best Ensemble of the year went to the cast of David O. Russell's "American Hustle," featuring Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lawrence.

Rounding out the winners was "Stories We Tell," winning in the Best Documentary category, beating out other great docs such as "The Square," "The Act of Killing" and "Blackfish."

Last year, the Detroit Film Critics correctly predicted the eventual Oscar winners in the Best Actor & Actress categories, although they failed to predict the Best Picture winner, "Argo," instead giving the award to "Silver Linings Playbook."
