According to a report today from VG 24/7, Destiny community manager David Dague hinted that the game’s developer Bungie could possibly implement the use of the PlayStation 4 DualShock 4’s touch pad or the Xbox One’s Kinect.
In a question and answer with Desti-Nation, Dague didn’t give a definitive answer when asked if Destiny would use the PS4 touch pad or the Xbox One Kinect sensor, but did offer that Bungie has tested out what each system could provide.
“We have next gen dev kits in the studio. We are playing with them and seeing what these new systems have to provide,” Dague said. “You’ll understand those plans once you get the controller in your hand, until then it’s all a matter of development.”
Destiny is due out sometime in quarter two of 2014 –– from April to June –– and the beta will be out slightly before that.
Earlier this month Bungie community manager Eric Osborne said the beta for Destiny would be treated like a full launch.
Osborne said Bungie owed it to the development of Destiny to gather as much data through the beta as possible because “Destiny demands more.”
