Early this morning, Jan. 18, 2014, the Pentagon announced the death of a North Carolina, Soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, fighting the Global War on Terror.
The cause of death for Spc. Andrew H. Sipple, 22, of Cary, was not released however, his death was listed as non-combat related and is currently under investigation by the military.
He died Jan. 17, in Kandahar City, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.
Spc. Sipple was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
This is the fifth U.S. troop loss in Afghanistan since the first of the year.
