On June 5, Grammy Award winning electronic dance music artist David Guetta announced the debut of an upcoming new single, "Blast Off" which is set for release June 9 via Jack Back / Parlophone / Warner Records. Marking the artist's fourth release since the start of the 2014 year, David Guetta has become the first artist to hit Beatport’s #1 chart an unprecedented three times over the course of a three month time-span.
Turning out massive productions, since the start of this year, "Blast Off" is an unforeseen, bold track as Guetta pairs catchy guitar riffs amidst a heavy beat and melody. The track, which was reportedly written while tournig in Asia in the with Aussie DJ and producer Kaz James, merges genres, being the first electro-rock pairing of its kind, a risk that definitely still embodies the qualities of yet another well-received Guetta production.
To coincide with its release, David Guetta also announced that he and James will be the only DJs in Ibiza to hold two residences this summer as Guetta kicks-off his legendary "FMIF" residency at Pacha Ibiza on Thursday, May 29 and launches David Guetta and Friends in Ushuaia on Monday, June 30. The residencies, which are set to feature Daddy’s Groove & Showtek, will also be amidst a lineup of performances at festivals this summer in the following countries: France, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Russia, Spain and Scotland. Be sure to also be on the look-out for other upcoming performances in: Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Washington DC, and New Orleans as well.
Electronic dance music artist, Kaz James also announced that he will be performing alongside Guetta this summer at both Pacha Ibiza and Ushuaia and will also be featuring his own residency at Paradise Club in Mykonos, Greece. Having recently signed an extended deal with One Love Records, James, already boasts remix work for the likes of Skrillex, Kaskade, and The Gossip.
