David Cassidy, formerly of The Partridge Family and often troubled former star was arrested on Friday in Los Angeles for DUI, his third such arrest in the last three years.

According to police reports Cassidy was pulled over for making an illegal turn and officers reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle. After failing field sobriety tests Cassidy was later found to have a blood alcohol level of .19 which is more than twice the legal limit in California.

This arrest marks the third time Cassidy has been arrested for DUI the first coming in November of 2010 in Florida where he pleaded no contest and had his license suspended for six months.

In August of 2013 Cassidy was charged with felony drunk driving in New York with the case still pending in that state.

Cassidy rose to fame in the early 70s as a guest star on several hit television shows including Adam-12, Bonanza, Ironside and others. After being cast as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family the career of Cassidy would skyrocket and see several hit records both as part of The Partridge Family and in solo releases.

At one point Cassidy was so popular he was selling out concerts in major venues including the Astrodome in Houston and Madison Square Garden. Concert tours in the UK and Australia were also played before sold out crowds and the madness surrounding his appearances in Australia was so bad that at one point there were people who wanted Cassidy deported from the country.

Cassidy was released on $15,000 bond and a trial is pending in Los Angeles.
