We, the undersigned genuine conservative Republicans, agree to endorse whichever one of our fellow signers advances to the run-off election against incumbent Senator Lindsey Graham following the South Carolina Republican primary election for the U.S. Senate on the 10th of June 2014.
The pledge was reportedly signed by state Sen. Lee Bright, Easley businessman Richard Cash, Orangeburg Attorney Bill Connor, and former Spartanburg police officer Dave Feliciano.
All four candidates reportedly gave statements upon signing, with the latter of the four, Feliciano, dedicating his statement entirely to challenging Sen. Graham's sexuality.
"It's about time that South Carolina [says] 'hey, we're tired of the ambiguously gay senator from South Carolina. We’re ready for a new leader to merge the Republican Party. We’re done with this'," said Feliciano. "This is what it’s about, all of us coming together and saying, one way or the other, one of us is going to be on that ballot in November."
Two of Feliciano's allies have already disavowed his remarks. The third, Lee Bright, reportedly left beforehand and was not available for comment.
