Canoodle.com launched in November of 2012 and has rapidly grown to 500,000 members due to the online dating site’s unique approach to matchmaking; linking likeminded people swiftly.
The social dating service understands that healthy relationships thrive when singles with similar interests are united. It would stand to reason then that people who exercise frequently are attracted to those who also like to care for their bodies and stay healthy.
Canoodle.com asked 1,500 of its members if the gym is a dating hotspot with the potential for meeting a future partner. Not surprising, 62% of those surveyed stated the gym is a good place to meet new people, with three quarters preferring it to a bar. An overwhelming 80% believed an interest in physical fitness is a significant characteristic of a potential partner, which would also encourage future workouts together.
Ironically, 62% of the women questioned, females who pride themselves on their multitasking capabilities, stated they would rather focus on the workout rather than be distracted by come-ons, yet have no problem meeting a love interest upon finishing; as compared to 61% of the men who believe they can workout and pick up all at the same time. Well, maybe that isn’t so ironic.
While a focus on appearance is not paramount to gym attendance, as expected, 76% of the surveyed men are turned on by workout-wear and find the tightfitting gear attractive, including Lycra and leg warmers; just what working out women want, to be ogled as they exercise. However, if finding a mate at the gym is what you seek, then slip on the spandex and head out to this dating hotspot.
