Daniel Radcliffe has always been pretty generous with his words for former Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire star Robert Pattinson, and his latest round is quite in keeping with that tradition.
Speaking to Esquire in support of his recent Sundance debut, Kill Your Darlings which also features The Twilight Saga: Eclipse alum Jack Huston, Radcliffe talked about his fellow franchise headers Pattinson and The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and mentioned his regard for the career choices of all.
"With Rob, I look at people and I think it’s easy to spot the ones who are in it for the right reasons, who want careers with longevity. What’s interesting about mine and Rob’s scenario is that Potter and Twilight are what made us, but Jennifer Lawrence had an Oscar nomination before Hunger Games. Mentally, we’re rooting for each other. Franchises aren't to be avoided. They can be exciting and they give you opportunities to do other films. And it’s always pleasing to see it’s possible to come out of a franchise, have a career, and be respected, when you see these other actors."
As Radcliffe suggested, all three of these named franchise stars have now enjoyed successes outside of their central gigs. Jennifer Lawrence, for instance, is now a second-time Oscar nominee for Silver Linings Playbook while Radcliffe enjoyed a highly respected Broadway debut with How To Succeed In Business Without Trying and Pattinson wowed with his Cannes-debuted Cosmopolis.
