Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson take souvenirs from 'Harry Potter' set

Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson take souvenirs from 'Harry Potter' set -- After starring in eight films based on seven books, taking up 10 years of their lives including growing up from children to young adults, you'd think Daniel Radcliffe, who stars as  Harry Potter, and Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies, might want to take a souvenir with them from the set to remember the experience.  What did they take? The two actors answer that question in their long interview with Scholastic, published today.

Daniel Radcliffe said he didn't want the wand, and he "definitely" didn't want the broom. "I got two pairs of glasses, one from the 1st [film] and one from the last, and I'm very happy and they're both in prided place." He described how many of Harry's glasses are lens-less to avoid reflecting in the lights for the camera. Mr. Radcliffe took a pair of glasses from the "very very first film." He said, "I didn't even know they still kept them."  The lenses are still in them.  The pair he took from the last movie do not have lenses.

One can see how the glasses, one from the first movie when he was such a young boy, and one when the filming was over, and he was in his twenties, might represent for Daniel Radcliffe his "view" of such a long part of his life.

As for Emma Watson, she also took souvenirs:  "I took my wand, and I took my time turner, and I took a cloak, and that was about it really," said the Brown University student.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 opens in theaters in just over a month -- November 19, 2010.
