Cumberland Falls will celebrate Valentine’s with mystery theater

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, near Corbin, will host a mystery theater presentation of Trouble at the Tropicabana, an I Love Lucy Spoof on Saturday, February 9.

The Fantastical Theatricals, from Lexington, will entertain guests with an interactive mystery theater as Lucy, Ricky, Fred, and Ethel mingle with diners.

The show opens with Ricky ready to sign a contract with movie mogul heiress, Celia B. DeMilo. As always, Ricky is concerned that somehow, Lucy and Ethel will ruin this big break as they scheme to get into the show as well. In the meantime, the notorious gangster, Mr. Big, shows up at Ricky’s club and a murder is discovered.

Who committed the murder? Why is Mr. Big at the Tropicabana? Will Ricky get the movie contract? And, most importantly, will Lucy finally get her big break?

Besides the rare moonbow, the park has 17 miles of hiking trails ranging from some that are less than one mile to the 10.8 Moonbow Trail. Other facilities at the park include the Riverview Restaurant, picnic facilities, campground, fishing, horseback riding, and swimming.

Cumberland Falls’ beautiful stone Dupont Lodge is complimented with solid hemlock beams and knotty pine paneling. All of the rooms at the lodge offer great views of the hills and hollows of south central Kentucky.
