Creative mode coming to Minecraft for Xbox 360, map size increase possible

4J Studios dropped two nuggets of news for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on Tuesday concerning updates for the Xbox LIVE Arcade title.

Unlike its PC counterpart, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition does not have a Creative mode. Players have to drop the difficulty level down to the easiest level so they can build in peace without getting attacked by Zombies or Creepers. That will change with the 1.8.2 update though as RJ Studios confirmed in a tweet on Tuesday.

When asked when Creative mode would come to Minecraft on the Xbox 360, 4J Studios said, "In the 1.8.2 update - we're working on it now, but no release date yet."

One of the largest complaints that came from the launch of Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Minecraft was the small map size compared to what is essentially an infinite map size on the PC.

4J Studios responded, "We do intend to look at that longer term" when asked if the developer plans to increase the map size.
