Craigslist guilty verdict: The verdict is in, and Richard Beasley has been found guilty of luring men from Ohio and Virginia off of the Internet, robbing them, and then murdering them.
The verdict came down in Akron, Ohio on Tuesday. According to the NY Post, Beasley was involved in a plot with another person that involved convincing people he met online that they would meet to discuss potential employment.
Once lured off the web and into “real life,” were robbed and killed.

“Prosecutor Jonathan Baumoel told jurors there was no reasonable doubt that Beasley plotted the killings, and he presented three possible theories for aggravated murder — planning the crimes, done with a kidnapping or done with a robbery. He said there was "prior calculation and design," a component of the death penalty aggravated murder charge.
"He was the mastermind behind this plot," Baumoel said.”
This isn’t the first time someone has been killed after meeting someone on Craigslist. In fact, the popular website continues to battle a negative stigma thanks to various stories like these.
